The Persian New Year (Norouz). Shahab Tolouie quartet.

The Persian New Year (Norouz). Shahab Tolouie quartet. On Sunday March 21st 2010, at 19:30 in the ABC Theatre, a unique music event will be taking place.  LEGENDS OF THE CZECH MUSIC SCENE will, for the first time, celebrate THE PERSIAN NEW YEAR, which traditionally falls on the first day of spring. Norouz (from the Persian ‘New Day’), is celebrated around the world by more than 300 million people. The inspiration to organise Persian New Year festivities in the heart of Europe initially came to Iranian virtuoso guitarist and singer Shahab Tolouie in 2009. Accordingly, on the occasion of the inaugural Persian New Year celebrations in Prague, he baptized his debut CD “Tango Perso”, which hugely successful collection has attracted the keen interest of some of the world’s most influential media: BBC TV (UK), and Voice of America (USA).
